Seamless
“Seamless” is an interior print inspired by knits.
Process
I began by dissecting the structure of knit fabrics and the natural patterns created through the interlooping of strings. The knit side of the fabric creates a V shaped pattern and the pearl side creates a U shapes. I was able to translate these natural patterns into a pattern of my own. I choose to interlock the circle of pearl and the triangles of knit to demonstrate how they are part of a whole. Knit wear is soft and organic yet structured at its core, and this pattern resembles that.
Technique
I hand indigo dyed fabric to create a gentle movement in color behind the print and chose a white pigment to make the print look almost like clouds in a blue sky. Knit wear is soft and organic yet structured at its core, and this pattern resembles that. It has clear defined shapes surrounded by organic movement creating an interesting design.
