Urban Industrial

Urban industrial architecture features exposed beams and structures that all work in unison to hold up the building. Even down to the walls, every brick must fit together to function properly. Across Urban Industrial aesthetics, all pieces must fit together to make a whole. This is what inspired my rug design. Each shape is in the process of aligning together to create a beautiful feeling of structured movement throughout the composition. It can be shown in complex colorways with multiple moving pieces or as simple two color shapes. This creates variety in the design and makes it available to a wide audience.

Rug Designs

My final design consists of natural curving lines that are organic yet geometic in nature. They are dynamic and eye catching especially when placed in a bold color palette like the image on the left. This design can be completely transformed when put into a different color way. The two tone color way is much more subtle and somewhat delicate. When in different color ways these designs can be used with completely different customers and in very distinct settings.

  • Color Way One

The pile is all standard wool cut. This will create a flat clean surface to emphasize such a complex design. It is also a 60 knot.

  • Color Way Two

The tan is a high wool cut pile and the white is a standard cut pile of 33% wool and 66% silk. The silk blend will create a beautiful sheen to the white motif. The different length piles will also emphasize the design. It is 60 knot.
